Find Remodeling Inspiration in Your Existing Space

You have thought about it a million times; you want to remodel a room or rooms in your home. You need more space in the kitchen for the recipes you’ve been dying to try. You would love to extend your dining room area to enjoy more family dinners/events. You have even played with the idea of enhancing your master bedroom to add some spice back to your relationship. Whatever your remodeling dreams are, it is time to begin making them a reality.

It is very difficult to begin moving forward on something, when you have nothing tangible tying it to the reality of your everyday life. The ideas in your mind will remain there indefinitely, unless you can find a way to take the goods of your vivid imagination and make them real.  I’d suggest finding an object within your current space and using it as inspiration to begin your project.

The object can be anything that inspires you and is capable of embodying your vision. It may be a vase that has colors you envision in your new space. It may be one of your children’s doll houses that has a layout reminiscent of the addition you would like to build.  Maybe it is your small kitchen that inspired your remodeling hopes. Take a picture of the space while your family is attempting to function in it.  Keep the photo with you as a reminder of how dysfunctional the space is.  Each time you see it, it will make you understand how remodeling can help your family.

Whatever it is, find it! You will be surprised at how this truly helps to push your project ahead.  The Tabor Design Build process is designed to help straighten out the ideas in your mind.  Finding the inspiration in your existing space may be just what you need to give us a call! 301-417-6570.
