Tabor Design Build Gives Back to Injured Veterans

Tabor Design Build has teamed up with local organizations to assist returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. With the support and assistance of our vendors, Tabor Design Build donates labor and materials to our nation’s returning disabled veterans. Whether building a wheel chair ramp, widening doorways or modifying a shower, the Tabor Team is honored to be able to provide this kind of assistance, at no cost, to those who have given so much for their country.

The first Tabor Veteran Project was completed in 2010.  John Tabor and the Tabor Team donated labor and materials to provide Maureen Walsh, a Navy nurse injured in Viet Nam, with a new handicap ramp, modifications to her existing ramps, new screen doors and a concrete patio with walkway.

They enlisted the aid of other contributors from within the construction industry.  Carl’s Masonry Unlimited volunteered the installation of concrete that was supplied by Chaney Enterprise through their charitable foundation. The Trex Company donated ADA-compliant deck materials, and TW Perry CEO, Mike Cassidy, swung a hammer to wood products donated by his organization. Duley & Associates volunteered to provide the survey services necessary for permitting.

Collaborations like these have been a testimony to the spirit of giving at TDB and the recognition that companies have a responsibility to the community where they work and live.
