Under the Roof

The addition is finally under a roof just in time for the biggest snow storm we’ve had this year.  Pella windows (www.pella.com) have been hung and sealed, helping to keep the cold weather outdoors.  The choice to use these low energy windows was wise considering how cold winters can be in Maryland.

With things going well with the addition, the Tabor crew is dedicating time to leveling the ground around the addition. The 3-story addition sits in a 14 feet ditch that we will backfill with soil.

Allied Well Drilling (www.alliedwells.com) will arrive Monday to drill three 473 foot deep wells for the geothermal lines.  We decided to use geothermal for HVAC in this addition and the rest of the house.  This is the most energy efficient way the home can be heated and cooled.
